What Makes SunRain Different

SunRain is not a lightweight bead-and-wire ornament or a plastic rainbow sticker.

Each one is a substantial handmade crystal suncatcher built around 25 genuine Asfour Egyptian lead-crystal prisms arranged individually around a cast-resin center.

The radial design gives sunlight many crystal surfaces to strike at once, creating multiple bands and patches of rainbow light throughout the room.

As the sun moves, the display changes naturally.

The center remains translucent so light can still pass through it while adding a coordinated accent to your space.

Handmade Construction

Each SunRain is made one at a time in my Omaha, Nebraska studio.

I cast the resin center, position the prisms individually in the radial arrangement, secure the assembly, clean and polish the crystal, attach the chain and hardware, and inspect the finished piece before shipping.

Because each piece is handmade, small variations are part of its character.

Why Crystal Matters

The quality of the prism matters.

SunRain uses genuine Asfour lead crystal rather than plastic or low-grade glass. The precisely faceted crystal separates white sunlight into distinct visible colors, creating sharper and more saturated rainbow spectra.

The effect is entirely natural: sunlight enters the crystal, bends, separates into color, and projects into the room.

From the Maker

I first made SunRain for my granddaughter. When she saw the rainbows moving across her bedroom, she said:

“There’s rainbows everywhere!”

That reaction became the inspiration behind SunRain.

I’m a retired engineer turned artist, and these pieces combine two things I have always enjoyed: geometry and light. Every SunRain is made by me in my Omaha studio.

Ships from Omaha, Nebraska.

Standard shipping is free within the contiguous United States. Alaska, Hawaii, other U.S. regions, and Canada are available with applicable shipping charges shown at checkout.

Returns

Returns are accepted within 14 days after delivery.

For standard returns, the buyer is responsible for return postage and the original purchase price is refunded after the item is returned.

For exchanges, the buyer pays return postage and I cover postage for the replacement shipment.

If a repair is needed because of a workmanship issue, I will take care of it.
