How does a SunRain Prism Suncatcher make rainbows?
The 25 genuine Asfour lead-crystal prisms separate direct sunlight into colorful rainbow spectra, projecting them onto walls, floors, ceilings, and other surfaces.
Does it need direct sunlight?
Yes. Bright daylight alone isn’t enough—the sunlight must reach the crystal prisms directly. Rainbow positions change with the sun’s angle, season, and your window.
Where should I hang it?
Choose a window that receives direct sunlight for a good part of the day. Hang your SunRain securely near the glass, with its flat face parallel to the window. Follow the included hanging instructions.
Will the rainbows move?
Two types of motion: Rainbow (spectra) position changes as the sun moves (technically the earth rotates). If the suncatcher rotates or sways (because of a fan for example), the rainbows move with that motion.
Can I choose the center color?
Yes, on products labeled “Choose Your Color.” Select from the color options shown in that listing. Pick a different listing if not. The transparent colored resin center personalizes the design to you. Only the crystal prisms cause refraction and create rainbows.
Can I add personalized engraving?
Personalized glass-dome engraving is available as an add-on for most designs. Choose a prism suncatcher first. Then choose Engraving (another listing), then enter your text before Add to Cart. You are welcome to contact me before ordering to check fit the text (maximum 30 characters on 3 lines).
How do I clean my suncatcher?
Handle it gently and use the included cleaning cloth. Hold it by the central resin circle only. Follow the care instructions supplied with your order.
